Charles Frederick Fearon Barker born 1878.

His parents, Isabella and Charles, were married in June 1869.[1]

He was living in British Columbia in about 1900 when he decided to go to South Africa to join the Second Boer War.[2] He made his own passage there, and joined No. 1 Troop of F Squadron of the South African Light Horse.[2] The war began in October 1899 and he was there and fighting at the front by March the following year.
